Electrical water heaters were probably the first to be developed and used. As a system it is quite primitive, and yet there have been very little advancement within its design since it's inception. An electric water heater is only a huge tank of water which has a coil that is positioned inside. This coil is associated with your current supply so that when you turn the idea on, the coil gets heated and therefore heats the water.
Obviously the heater needs to be insulated, and for two causes. One is that as soon as electricity is passed throughout the coil it also passes through the water, which means that unless the not in the tank is insulated anybody who touches it will get a shock. The second is common sense, if you don't insulate it the heat will dissipate quickly meaning that the heater has to become on longer. Result; higher power bills.

I bought this water heater for the price and because I know Rheem is a good brand. Installation was easy and took less than a few hours. The water is very hot on the lowest setting and much hotter than my old one. So far seems to be a very good product and probably will last almost as long as my old 18 year one. I like the fact that you do not need a match to light it just hold the ignitor and it lit the pilot right away. I also found it is much quieter than my old one, but that is probably because their is no sediment built up in this one and hopefully with the magnesium anode rod their will be less sediment and no rust, as that was why I had to replace it, my old one had rusted through the bottom.
